Chemical composition and mechanical properties:
Carbon content: For Grade A, the carbon content shall not exceed 0.25%. Grade B ranges between 0.18-0.25%, and Grade C from 0.25-0.35%. The incremental carbon content enhances strength levels, yet caution is necessary as excessive carbon can increase quenching susceptibility and impact toughness.
Manganese content: Ranges from approximately 0.29-1.06%. Manganese plays a crucial role in refining grain size, strengthening ferrite, and boosting both tensile and compressive strength, adding to the material's overall robustness.
Silicon content: Consistently maintained at around 0.10%, silicon is primarily utilized for the deoxidation and purification of molten steel, ensuring pristine quality and performance.
Tensile strength and yield strength: For Grade A, tensile strength is a minimum of 330MPa, with yield strength at least 207MPa. Grade B offers 415MPa and 240MPa, respectively, while Grade C excels with 485MPa and 275MPa. Each grade is designed to meet stringent strength requirements, offering unrivaled durability.
Elongation rate: Typically required to exceed 30%, ensuring the steel pipe effectively absorbs and dissipates energy through deformation during impacts, thus preventing brittle fractures and enhancing safety.
